How Do I Request a Trip?

IMPORTANT: Please read these instructions CAREFULLY prior to requesting a trip.

SCHOOL GROUPS HAVE ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LETTERS THAT MUST BE INCLUDED WITH THEIR TRIP REQUEST FOR THEIR GROUP TO BE CONSIDERED.

We are now accepting trip requests for the current year and will start notifying groups in April if we can fund their trip. Please email us at friendsofrollo@yahoo.com on the day you fax the trip request to us notifying us it was sent so we can ensure we received it and can email verification to you.

Friends of Rollo sponsor's marine awareness fishing trips for about 5,000 youth per year from organized youth groups such as school and community groups.  Our priority is serving disadvantaged, disabled, at-risk, low income, and minority youth, but we do serve other organized youth groups based on available funding.  Groups may need to co-fund trip costs.

We send 30 to 45 kids, with 4 or 6 chaperones, on 1/2 to 3/4 day marine awareness fishing trips. Rods, reels, hooks, and sinkers are provided and additionally, the participants are instructed in fishing techniques and learn about marine conservation with expert instruction from the Captain and crew on a Coast Guard approved vessel.
